The first of many can’t-miss speakers we’ll announce for our ecommerce conference in the coming months, we’re thrilled to share our first two keynotes for CommerceNext 2019 with Joe Megibow, CEO of Purple and Laura Joukovski, Chief Media Officer of TechStyle confirmed to take the stage.

joe megibow Joe Megibow, CEO of Purple, will be taking the stage for the keynote Purple & The Power of Brand Storytelling at this year’s ecommerce conference.

You don’t need viral videos about your brand to be a smashing success, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Since its inception, Purple has been all about storytelling and building a strong, unique, modern brand presence. Joe Megibow’s keynote follows Purple’s storytelling strategy and how it’s evolved over time. He’ll dig into what makes a compelling story in the current crowded retail and ecommerce landscape, why stories matter now more than ever, how stories can—or cannot—translate into sales and what other brands can do to spread their own stories like wildfire.

Because of his vast ecommerce experience wherein he lead multiple teams and disciplines simultaneously, Megibow knows exactly how stories and structure can unite an entire company. Before joining Purple as Chief Executive Officer, Megibow served as Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. where he oversaw the transformation and growth of American Eagle’s $550+ million direct-to-consumer business between 2012 and 2015. In this role, he built out a global omnichannel strategy and infrastructure and led all digital marketing, customer operations, engineering and product management efforts. Prior to that, Megibow held several senior roles with Expedia, Inc., the $10B+ US online travel business. Megibow most recently served as an independent consultant to Advent International, the $41 billion global private equity firm, helping its portfolio companies develop world-class digital capabilities.

Laura JoukovskiLaura Joukovski, Chief Media Officer of TechStyle, is bringing her experience to discuss How to Create A Test-And-Learn Culture Without Fear

Hesitation to take risks and fear of failure doesn’t breed innovation. Laura Joukovski helms an innovative, data-driven, in-house media team at TechStyle Fashion Group, which includes innovative brands like ShoeDazze, Fabletics and JustFab. Joukovski’s team runs from concept to execution on creatives, media buying and marketing sciences. Some company leaders remain paralyzed, sticking to the status quo because outside-of-the-box thinking is too scary of a strategy. Bucking tradition, Joukovski cultivated—and continually nurtures—a test-and-learn culture across her portfolio of brands. Instead of branding and performance marketing working autonomously, her team looks at the whole and ensures all marketing is on brand, but ultimately evaluates results based on performance. Her keynote covers how this kind of culture results in less failures and more successes, and how other teams can push the boundaries similarly to transform their marketing and product strategies.

It’s no wonder Joukovski bravely embraces this kind of testing culture. From her early career days at Levi Strauss & Co to now serving as Chief Media Officer at TechStyle Fashion Group—a portfolio of digital fashion brands based in Los Angeles—Joukovski is no stranger to marketing risks. She leads an internal agency for advertising across all TechStyle brands, including JustFab, ShoeDazzle, Fabletics, Fabkids and Savage X Fenty. The team deploys $130M+ in global advertising to drive growth across the brands. Joukovski has been a pioneer in building TechStyle, since joining as part of the FabKids acquisition in 2013. She was the original GM for Fabletics at launch, built the backbone for TechStyle’s data-driven culture developing a global analytics team, and now drives growth across TechStyle brands in her CMO role.

Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll continue announcing more of our stellar lineup for this year’s ecommerce conference. Stay tuned and subscribed for updates.
