About the Session

Given how much retailers and DTC brands invest in customer acquisition, we would be remiss not to cover the other side of the coin—customer retention. Capitalizing on retention and commanding loyalty from existing customers is critical to a company’s viability and long-term success. This panel will cover the hardest questions around retention and loyalty, like: What is loyalty, really, and how can we measure it? How does customer participation in loyalty programs translate into actual customer loyalty? How can we track the value of a customer and extend engagement across digital, physical, and indirect channels?

About the Session

It’s a budgeting battle as old as retail itself: brand marketing vs. performance marketing. Sometimes these programs are run by different teams who have different business objectives, often putting internal teams at odds with each other—often a lose, lose for everyone. This panel comes from a new perspective, one that considers brand and performance marketing as one cohesive investment strategy. We will explore questions like: What is the right mix of brand vs. performance marketing spend? How are companies incentivizing collaboration between those two functions? How can marketers break down silos between brand and performance to provide a seamless customer experience with their brand?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJjZW50ZXJociUyMiUyMHN0eWxlJTNEJTIyYm9yZGVyLXdpZHRoJTNBMXB4JTNCJTIwYm9yZGVyLXN0eWxlJTNBc29saWQlM0J3aWR0aCUzQTEwMCUyNSUyMCUyMWltcG9ydGFudCUzQiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRQ==[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

About the Session

Let’s be honest—how effective is highly targeted media these days? It’s only gotten more expensive, increasing your customer acquisition costs and making it ever more difficult to scale. Together, Mike Lackman (CEO at Trade Coffee) and Joe Yakuel (CEO at Agency Within) will teach us how to combat this trend and build our own competitive advantages through personalization—at scale and outside of those traditional channels.

About the Session

In response to Amazon’s dominance in product search, Google launched a series of AI-driven retail solutions to bolster their flagging fortunes. The first of these—Google’s Smart Bidding solution—seems to have a lot going for it. Google’s AI-driven bidding leverages unique, real-time query data to assign bids and achieve stated KPIs, giving it a solid advantage over traditional bidding tools. Yet, retailers should be wary. Questions remain surrounding accuracy, KPI alignment and data integration. Join Crealytics Founder and CEO, Andi Reiffen, as he shares first-party data measuring the upsides and challenges in working with Google Smart Bidding.

Where are they making the biggest impact now? Sales. Today’s Conversational AI automated agents can answer questions, upsell and cross-sell products, or even help make a sale, in addition to merely taking orders. About the Session

With multi-touch attribution, models can be difficult to build out and maintain, often requiring a data science team or specialized partners. Some retailers have defaulted to last-click attribution, which has its pitfalls given its bias towards lower-funnel marketing tactics. Which metric should you use for optimizing media? Should it return on ad spend (RoAS), cost per acquisition (CPA) or profitability? In this panel, execs from Casper, Poshmark, AdRoll and Burrow discuss their own models, best practices and the tradeoffs of different approaches.

About the Session

Prior to the last few years, weaving in sustainability or philanthropy to a brand’s core business model was a niche approach in retail. Now, it’s not only on-trend to do so, it’s also what consumers want. What does “marketing for good” really mean and who does it well? In this enlightening session, execs from Tumi and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital break down the full spectrum of charitable partnerships—from charity for charity’s sake to charity that drives sales and content. About the Session

Hesitation to take risks and fear of failure doesn’t breed innovation. Bucking tradition, Laura Joukovski at TechStyle Fashion Group strategically cultivated a tactic-focused, test-and-learn culture across her portfolio of brands. Instead of branding and performance marketing working autonomously, her team considers them harmonious, leaving no fear that testing can harm the brand. They collectively concentrate on one KPI and are measured against their individual contributions to that KPI. Her keynote covers how this kind of culture results in less failures and more successes, and how other teams can push the boundaries similarly to transform their marketing and product strategies. About the Session

Traditional demographic-based segmentation is yielding ever-lower returns. Luckily, marketers now gather so much data across multiple touch points, that there are almost limitless ways to slice and utilize audience data. But, where do you start? (HINT: It’s not about creating the perfect persona.) The answer lies in how a brand can harness 100% of their customer data – demographic, behavioral, and contextual – to drive real-time orchestration and intelligence. This session brings marketing leaders from HBC, WW (Weight Watchers) and ActionIQ to discuss how innovators deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time and via the right channel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJjZW50ZXJociUyMiUyMHN0eWxlJTNEJTIyYm9yZGVyLXdpZHRoJTNBMXB4JTNCJTIwYm9yZGVyLXN0eWxlJTNBc29saWQlM0J3aWR0aCUzQTEwMCUyNSUyMCUyMWltcG9ydGFudCUzQiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRQ==[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Traditional direct mail senders as well as newer direct-to-consumer brands continue to invest heavily in the channel, as they hit the limits of what digital can deliver. The result: a new direct mail marketing that extends the reach and effectiveness of campaigns across the customer lifecycle. Join this session to learn more about the latest trends in direct mail and how companies can apply the same programmatic campaign design and deep personalization that they use in digital channels to their direct mail efforts.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJjZW50ZXJociUyMiUyMHN0eWxlJTNEJTIyYm9yZGVyLXdpZHRoJTNBMXB4JTNCJTIwYm9yZGVyLXN0eWxlJTNBc29saWQlM0J3aWR0aCUzQTEwMCUyNSUyMCUyMWltcG9ydGFudCUzQiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRQ==[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
